The Doctoral Life Design Studio is the central professional development hub for doctoral students and postdoctoral fellows, empowering individuals to thrive in fulfilling and impactful careers by fostering an inclusive community, providing innovative resources, and offering tailored guidance to connect them with diverse opportunities.
As part of the Department of Integrative Learning and Life Design under the Office of the Provost, DLDS supports over 5,000 doctoral students and 1,500 postdoctoral fellows. Through collaborations with faculty, staff, alumni, and employers, DLDS strives to connect scholars with meaningful opportunities and resources.
To support doctoral students and postdoctoral fellows balancing research, teaching, and career development, the DLDS offers flexible learning experiences—online or in person, live or self-paced—built to fit the realities of a busy life.
Offerings
The DLDS focuses on key competencies for career success, such as career exploration, scientific and professional communication, multicultural competency, experiential learning, and job market readiness for academic and non-academic positions. It also facilitates community building and networking opportunities between doctoral students, postdocs, alumni, and employers.
