The Academic Impressions Supervision Certificate Program is a structured, four-week learning experience designed specifically for supervisors, managers, and emerging leaders in higher education. Through a combination of asynchronous learning modules and live cohort sessions, participants develop essential supervisory skills grounded in effective communication, feedback practices, conflict navigation, trust-building, and staff development.
The program offers a weekly curriculum that guides faculty through foundational supervision concepts, diagnosing performance challenges, giving and receiving meaningful feedback, navigating conflict styles, and applying the ACORN model for cultivating and retaining staff. Weekly recommended schedules and workbook activities support applied reflection and practical skill-building.
Two live 90-minute sessions, one at the end of Week 2 and one at the end of Week 4, allow participants to engage in real-world scenarios, practice supervisory conversations, and learn collaboratively with peers across higher education.
Upon completing the asynchronous content and attending both live sessions, participants earn a digital engagement badge that can be shared with colleagues and added to professional profiles. For faculty seeking to strengthen supervisory confidence, enhance team culture, and lead more effectively within academic settings, this certificate provides an accessible, higher-ed–specific framework for applied leadership growth.
