Executive Presence is a three-day, in-person executive education course offered by the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School that helps participants strengthen their leadership influence through intentional communication, self-awareness, and presence. The course explores the ten core characteristics of executive presence and examines how verbal and nonverbal communication shape perceptions of leadership effectiveness.

Participants engage in interactive exercises designed to practice difficult conversations in low-stakes environments, develop people-centered language, and refine strategies for articulating ideas with clarity and confidence. The program also incorporates critical perspectives related to neurodiversity, race, gender, socioeconomic status, and identity, examining how these factors influence leadership, assessment, and organizational dynamics. Through applied tools, reflective practices, and experiential learning, participants build practical skills to reduce communication anxiety, enhance professional credibility, and lead with empathy and authenticity.
